This movie was a "make-it or break it" for a lot of people. It divided the fans of Pirates Of The Caribbean in a way that bands do when they start experimenting with new sounds, you either like it, or completely hate it.
In my opinion, I started out as one of the guys, watching the trailers, saying, "Oh! This movie is going to completely suck!"
I went to the midnight release, and the loss of sleep on that school night was the best choice that I have ever made at Midnight.
It starts off with one of Jack Sparrow's great escapes, which in my opinion, if Jack Sparrow was in an improv group today, he'd be the best one in the world. This guy is flipping over streets, jumping into carriages, setting random crazy stuff on fire, and that's only in the first five minutes.
I'm so glad that they got rid of that sappy little love love triangle going on being Will, Jack, and Elizabeth. Yes, there is a new love story, but you feel so much more sympathy for this one, rather then just feeling sorry that Elizabeth was a complete bitch to everyone.
It's kinda predictable at some parts, but the things that are said at those parts are well-timed comedy, more funny then in the previous Pirate movies that have been made.
Jack is more like a pirate in this one then ever before, but still remains to his roots, which is a masterpiece character that Johnny Depp has created.
I rate this movie a 5 out of 5 stars, because there is never a moment where you are just sitting there, waiting for some action to come along. It's a perfect balance of comedy, and action, with a little bit of drama put in (for the love story that goes in), and it all ties at the end.
Lets just say, stick until after the credits, you'll thank me later. :)
